Remote learning- farm safety training.

The client- The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of UK farmers. Their award-winning education programme has delivered innovative farm safety training to over 11,000 young farmers in 44 different land-based colleges and universities across the UK.

The product- Captivate Reality partnered up with the Farm Safety Foundation to design and develop a web-based app used to teach new farming students how to work more safely in the farming industry.

The challenge- A previously developed VR version of the training programme, developed by Captivate Reality, had been on tour of the country in 2020. It received extremely positive feedback, but the pandemic meant that the delivery of this type of training would have to be put on hold. We were advised that the trainers delivering this programme would require a remote solution instead, all deliverable online.

The experience- Captivate Reality developed an interactive 3D farm using WebGL technology. This was built as an easy-to-use solution that was accessible and deliverable remotely. The experience had test elements incorporated and was accessible via web browser. This solution meant that all training session could be delivered and received from home, enabling distance learning.

Scope of work- The app was built in a 4-week timeframe consisting of 1 week of creative & strategy, 2 weeks of app development and 1 week for testing, amending and app deployment.
